Money Morning Women Empowerment Scholarship

To expose women to the principles of financial management and investing. To teach them how to increase their earning capacity.

The current poverty statistics released by the Brookings Institution in Washington sometime in May 2018, pegged Nigeria as the world`s poverty capital. The report states that 83 million Nigerians are poor. Consequently, with 50% of Nigeria`s population being made up of females, it underscores that women are being hard hit economically and need financial empowerment. Women run 20% of Nigeria`s enterprises and are grossly under-represented in secure, wage paying jobs (The British Council`s Gender in Nigeria Report, 2012).

Money Morning Women Empowerment Scholarship

Why we want to do this

Research shows that women systematically underestimate their own abilities, contributing to gender gaps in the workplace and more women are emerging as breadwinners in their families.

What has been done

Marketing has started.

1.The speakers are booked to attend.
2.The curriculum has been prepared.
3. A list of scholarship beneficiaries have been generated.

How we will get it done

The project will be achieved through learning from experts and a transfer of knowledge, equipping them to position themselves for financial success. By running a scholarship track, women like widows, breadwinners of their homes and financially challenged women can be sponsored to attend the event and have their costs covered.
