Why we want to do this

Our Why We keep hearing about the lack of more women in male dominated fields like Audio Production and Engineering, but the problem is not the lack of interest in these fields on the women`s part, but it is more about finding a conducive and enabling space to learn and practice, and also finding mentors and other women to look up to. Our goal is to create a safe platform for girls in audio to connect, learn and collaborate Find mentors that look like them and access to educational resources wherever they are Learn even in the confines of their home. Get access to mentorship programs, find a safe place to ask questions, share their ideas and get noticed for their work by notable companies and individuals. Open up a strong network platform for women in audio, from the pros to beginners and also get industry players and influencers to come on board. A safe space where women and girls in audio can share ideas, get help and the necessary support and network they need.

What has been done

In total, the project is going to cost us about N600,000 We are currently in the process of building the site and it will be costing a total amount of N167,000 Naira to build it and launch it successfully. We also need finance in the area of the social media campaign and promotion to cost about N100,000 We also are planning a local 2day workshop and awareness talk for young girls in lagos and its environment which will cost about N300,000 to successfully carry this out. We have two workshop projects (1 day workshops) under our belt, in two major cities in Lagos and Ibadan, Nigeria, that cost us about Half a million Naira, which were personally funded by friends and volunteers of the initiative. As regards, the site we have been able to secure about 50% of the fund but we need a total of 85,000naira to get it up and running. We are reaching out to friends and Women Professionals in the Field to also join us in this campaigns.

How we will get it done

On International Girl Child Day, Oct 11, 2018 We would be launching a social media (twitter and Instagram) campaign with top women professionals in various fields in audio, using the #IAmAnAudioMogul #AudioMogul where they share their inspiring stories and journey with all women in the world, encouraging other women to also share ways in which they have been able to step out and take up this careers against all odds. And through their story, they can inspire women and your girls with interest in audio that they too can be audiomoguls, that they have the power to shape culture in the Audio Media Industry through their voices and actions no matter where they are. We are also planning a 2days audio girl workshop in Lagos for that same day in partnership with top local audio and tech companies, to create awareness and train girls in the field. We have started reaching out to Major Influencers and Audio Industry leaders to support this initiative. We would like to create/build a
